a simpler, clearer life

What is one main reason that most people choose to have laser eye surgery? It makes their lives simpler and better. Relying on glasses and contacts in your day-to-day life takes time away from what you love. It’s frustrating, expensive, and forces you to rely on objects —namely lenses — in front of your eyeballs so you can enjoy clarity of vision.

If you’re curious about laser vision correction and how it could improve your overall quality of life, we urge you to reach out to have a discussion with us about your options. Trust us, it’s a life-changing decision – for the better.

Questions?

We’ve got answers.

Essentially, Femto SBK is the new-and-improved laser vision correction. It’s safer, it has quicker recovery times, and it can oftentimes work for those who were told they could not get laser vision correction.

Before we begin your procedure, we will numb your eye with a painless eye drop. While you might experience some minimal discomfort after the procedure, it’s usually very easy to manage and goes away quicker than most expect.

Laser surgery is designed to be a long-term solution. That said, when your eyes go through a big change, such as normal aging that happens after the age of 40, or if you get a cataract, it might change your vision. However, we’ll make sure to stay on top of any of these changes to ensure you’re informed about your eye health and the best options available to you at all times.

When you think about surgery, you might expect at least an hour-long procedure. However, laser surgery is quite different and very straightforward. Generally, the surgery procedure itself will take only about ten to fifteen minutes to complete.

Laser eye surgery should be performed after your eyes are fully developed. Your vision may change during your lifetime (which is why prescriptions are often changed and updated).  This is due to your eye muscles and how they change, affecting one’s ability to focus. It is not a structural change to your eyes. Usually, a person’s eyes are fully developed by age 18.

Think of the Consultation as your first step toward freedom.  Whether it’s Femto SBK, PRK or Refractive Lens Exchange, determining which procedure may be right for you depends on a number of factors.  These including:

  • whether or not you’ve previously had eye surgery;
  • the overall health of your eyes; and
  • the unique shape of your eyes.

During the Consultation we conduct a full examination of your eyes as part of the process of (a) figuring out if you qualify for laser eye surgery and, if so, (b) understanding which option is right for you.

This Consultation is completely free and there is no obligation to move forward with surgery.

If you’ve been thinking about how your life would improve without the need for glasses and contacts, head over to our Contact page to get in touch and book your Consultation!

Laser Vision Correction may be complex and intricate but we keep surgery day simple and safe for our patients.  Your eyes will be numbed using medicated drops, after which the surgeon will perform a brief procedure at the corneal level of the eye to correct your unique refractive errors.

Surgery typically last less than a half hour and patients are often thrilled to be able to sit up and, for the first time in years (maybe ever), read the clock on the wall.

After a procedure, it is always best to take it easy for 48 to 72 hours. Often patients experience blurry vision during the few days after the surgery, which is normal and to be expected. By Day 2, you should be able to return to normal activities. And after 3 to 5 days, you should be able to return to work.

That said, everyone’s recovery period is different so we advise people to pay attention to how they are feeling and tae note of the primary indicators during the healing process.  We are with you all the way.

As such, we’ll schedule a post-operative appointment within 3 days of your surgery (though you can also complete this with your primary care physician) and support you in other ways via the Focus Commitment and/or Standard Enhancement Policy (discussed during your initial Consultation).
